About Dr Seuss
Dr Seuss was a great children’s book writer and cartoonist. He is better known by his pen name, Dr Seuss but his original name is Theodor Seuss Geisel. Throughout his career, as a cartoonist and writer, he published over 60 books during his life time. And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street was his very first children’s book published under the name of Dr Seuss in 1937.
The next editions came as a string of bestsellers including The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. He had several pen names a part from Dr Seuss such as D.G. Rossetti ’25, L. Pasteur, Seuss, and T. Seuss. He earned several honorary doctorates throughout his career but in fact “Dr” was just a moniker. Dr. Seuss began his career in the 1920s as a cartoonist, and eventually he wrote his first children’s book in 1936. This was the first of 46 works he published for children. Dr Seuss died in 1991 at the age of 87 leaving the world with his indelible spirit, which is seen anytime on his famous books. His most famous books include How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Green Eggs and Ham, The Lorax, and The Cat in the Hat.
